In our last installment of this Keno series, we'll talk about Keno odds and some other items. Up to this point we've talked about some Keno basics, game differentiation and history. Now it's time to look at the hard facts of Keno.
Keno Introduction.
Keno is one of those games you either know about or you don't. It's basically considered a lotto in the casino. Like the lotto, the game consists of numbers drawn. The object is to pick the numbers that come up. The game of Keno can either be fast or slow depending on the casino. By playing Keno online you can control the pace of the game. There are also keno machines. Personally, I like live keno. You sit in a lounge, if you want, and play. Keno is a game that you don't have to be present to play and win. For instance, you could put in a ticket for 20 games and then go play something else in the casino.

Keno is a game that is more like a lottery. The game seems to have originated long ago in China, dating back 200 B.C. Apparently the game came to the West along with immigrant workers in the 1800s, and gained popularity only after the 1930s, when Nevada legalized gambling. Today you can play keno both offline as well as online. If you are new to Keno, you would do well to know the different terms used in the game. What is an 'all or nothing'? Or a 'ball game'? Keno is a simple and popular game. It is played with a ticket that has numbers 1 to 80 printed on it. Each player can select between 1 and 15 numbers and mark those numbers on the ticket. The casino then draws 20 numbers at random. The player is paid out in proportion to his wagered amount, and depending on how many numbers he had marked and how many of his marked numbers were included in the 20 numbers drawn by the casino. There is a predetermined payout table that covers the above possibilities and is displayed to the players.

If superstition, luck, premonitions or numerology is your thing, then keno is the casino game for you. The game is just like a lottery draw although there are 80 numbers to choose from. In brick and mortar casinos, the numbers are drawn from numbered ping-pong balls in a cage and there are twenty numbers drawn for each round.
